In honor & celebration of the Atlanta Chapter Launch we will be raffling off one free convention ticket in each of our 13 chapters! 

“The DEMA Lucky Number 13 Event” will be your chance to win a free convention ticket! To be eligible and win the raffle all you have to do is follow two simple steps:

Step 1 – Join Your NYC Chapter Group on the DEMA Website!

Go to and look under the “Groups” tab on the top menu and navigate to the NYC Chapter Group. Once you have joined the group you will be automatically entered into the raffle for the this Meeting.

Step 2 – Come to Your Local DEMA Meeting!

You will now have a chance to win your ticket that night. You must be present for the drawing to win.

All current professional members are eligible to win the ticket. If a member has already joined their local chapter group on the DEMA website they will automatically be registered in the raffle, but must be present at this meeting in order to win.

RICK SMILOW is the president and CEO of the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE).  During his tenure, ICE has grown to become one of the nation’s leading culinary education centers, winning two coveted awards from the International Association of Culinary Professionals.  

Smilow has an MBA from the Kellogg School and has held corporate and entrepreneurial marketing positions prior to acquiring ICE in 1995 and landing his dream job.  He is also a director of Daniel Boulud’s Dinex Restaurant Group and a board member of City Harvest and Careers through Culinary Arts Program.
